Freestan FC To Battle Olukoya Boys In Lagos FA Semi Final Clash

NPFL side, MFM qualified for the Semi final of the WGB/Lagos FA Cup at the Teslim Balogun Stadium after defeating Ikorodu United 4-1 in one of the quater final games to set up a tantalising semi finals clash against non league side, Freestan fc who had earlier beat giant killers, Fenmark fc by 11-10 on penalties after ending the regulation time 2-2. 

In a keenly contested game that once again saw highly rated goalkeeper Chibueze Ogbugo in goal for Freestan winning his second man of the match award in as many games for the Ajegunle based team and a clash with Olukoya boys in the semi final will be a very much anticipated kind of football in Lagos state.

Olukoya Boys Celebrating

Olukoya boys are the defending champions and will be hoping to win the prestigious trophy back to back, while their opponents will be hoping to cause an upset as they are the best grassroot team in 2016 and they have won major trophies at the grassroot levels.

Speaking with the President of the team Prince Efemena Elutabe last month, he has promise that his team are fully ready to rule Lagos football, He made this remark during a chat with the press on the back drop of his team's triumph at the maiden edition of the Eko Football Easter Beach Soccer.

"You know, we are a grassroots team, with the mindset of thorough bred professionals. And that's what we have taken into the Lagos FA cup and presently we are among the best four teams in Lagos State and we know that we have a big task ahead of us to qualify for the finals but i can tell you confidently that with positive mindset of the players and the coaching staff Olukoya boys are beatable and we can qualify for the finals because we are the under dogs and they have so much pressure on them facing our team.   

Other semi finals matches will see Dominion Hotspurs trading tackles with Spartans fc. All the semi final matches will be played on Friday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium beginning from 8am.
